Missouri High Court rules against St. Louis attorney Keith Black over misconduct charges

On Thursday, January 19, 2023, the Supreme Court of Missouri ruled on the disciplinary charges filed against St. Louis attorney Keith Alan Black alleging misconduct. The case is titled “In the Matter of Keith Alan Black,” with case no. SC99879.

The charges cited Rule 4-1.4 of the Rules of Professional Conduct.

The Chief Disciplinary Counsel filed information before the Court after having found the existence of probable cause to believe Black is guilty of professional misconduct after its investigation. Thereafter, Black was deemed in default by the Chief Disciplinary Counsel for his failure to timely file an answer or any responses despite proper notice.

By these acts, the Chief Disciplinary Counsel recommended to the Court the imposition of discipline against Black.

Accordingly, the Court ruled against Black in relation to his violation of the above-mentioned rule of professional conduct.

The disposition reads:

” Now, therefore, it is ordered by this Court that Respondent, Keith Alan Black, is hereby suspended from the practice of law in this state. No petition for reinstatement will be entertained for a period of two years from the date of this order.”

Prior to the suspension, Mr. Black practiced in St. Louis, Missouri as the managing attorney of the law firm, St. Louis Family Attorneys. He earned his law degree from Saint Louis University School of Law, graduating in 2014. He has been licensed in Missouri, license no. 67527. Black’s info can be found on LinkedIn.
