On Tuesday, October 24, 2023, the Supreme Court of Missouri issued an order to disbar attorney Gary W. Long II,  following his indefinite suspension by the Kansas Supreme Court on June 17, 2022.

The case is entitled “In the Matter of Gary W. Long II.” with case No. # SC100215.

The Chief Disciplinary Counsel had filed an information and motion for reciprocal discipline pursuant to Rule 5.20, asserting that Long’s suspension in Kansas was a result of conduct violating the Kansas Rules of Professional Conduct. The court issued a show cause order to Long on August 29, 2023, and he subsequently filed his response.

After reviewing the case, the Supreme Court of Missouri found that Long had violated the Rules of Professional Conduct and determined that he should be disbarred. His right and license to practice law in the state have been canceled, and his name has been removed from the roll of attorneys. Long is now obligated to comply with Rule 5.27, outlining procedures following a disbarment or suspension order.

Furthermore, Long has been directed to pay a fee of $2,000 to the Clerk, which shall be credited to the Advisory Committee Fund, pursuant to Rule 5.19(k).
