On Tuesday, October 3, 2023, the Supreme Court of Missouri the Supreme Court of Missouri handed down a disbarment order against Attorney Lenny Kagan.
The case is entitled “In the Matter of Lenny Kagan,” with case number SC100046.
Kegan allegedly violated Rules 4-1.1, 4-1.3, 4-1.4, 4-1.15(a)(1), 4-1.15(a)(6), 4-1.15(a)(7), 4-1.15(c), 4-1.15(d), 4-1.15(f), 4-4.3, 4-4.4(a), 4-8.4(c), and 4-8.4(d) of the Missouri Rules of Professional Conduct.
The court found that Kagan violated multiple rules, including those related to competence, diligence, communication, handling of client funds, and ethical misconduct.
According to a Missouri Courts brief, the discipline charges against Attorney Kagan arose from mistakes in the operation of his client trust account as well as issues that arose in his representation of two clients.
As a result, Attorney Kagan’s right and license to practice law in Missouri have been canceled, and his name will be removed from the roster of attorneys in the state. The court also ordered Mr. Kagan to comply with the procedures following a disbarment or suspension order and imposed a fee of $2,000 payable to the Clerk of the Court. The costs of the proceedings were also taxed to Mr. Kagan.
