On Friday, December 8, 2023, Nelson Gonzalez, an attorney admitted to the New Jersey bar in 1997, was reinstated by the New Jersey Supreme Court to practice law after facing a suspension earlier this year.
The case is entitled “In the Matter of Nelson Gonzalez,” with case no. 088807.
On March 15, 2023, the Supreme Court of New Jersey ordered Gonzalez to be suspended from practicing law for six months, effective April 11, 2023. This came after the Disciplinary Review Board found Gonzalez guilty of violating several Rules of Professional Conduct, including gross neglect, lack of diligence, failure to communicate with a client, and failure to cooperate with disciplinary authorities.
On December 7, 2023, the Supreme Court approved the Disciplinary Review Board’s recommendation that Gonzalez be reinstated immediately. The reinstatement order also requires Gonzalez to practice under the supervision of another approved attorney for six months.
The Disposition states:
“It is ORDERED that Nelson Gonzalez is hereby reinstated to the practice of law, effective immediately,”
According to avvo.com, Mr. Gonzalez is a criminal defense attorney in Dover, New Jersey. He acquired his law license in New Jersey in 1997.
