On Tuesday, January 27, 2026, the Supreme Court of New Jersey suspended attorney Divij Hemang Dave from practicing law for six months, effective March 1, 2026. The suspension follows a recommendation from the Disciplinary Review Board (DRB) in DRB 25-114.

The case is entitled “In the Matter of Divij Hemang Dave,” with case no. 091350.

Dave was found to have violated several Rules of Professional Conduct (RPC). These violations include RPC 1.1(a) for engaging in gross neglect, RPC 1.3 for lacking diligence, RPC 8.1(a) for knowingly making a false statement of material fact to disciplinary authorities, RPC 8.4(b) for committing a criminal act reflecting adversely on his honesty, trustworthiness, or fitness as a lawyer, and RPC 8.4(c) for engaging in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation on two occasions.

In addition to the suspension, the court has ordered Dave to complete a continuing legal education course on legal ethics and professionalism. This course must be approved by the Office of Attorney Ethics and completed before reinstatement. Dave must also comply with Rule 1:20-20, which deals with suspended attorneys.

Failure to comply with the Affidavit of Compliance requirement of Rule 1:20-20(b)(15) may prevent the Disciplinary Review Board from considering Dave’s reinstatement petition for up to six months. Non-compliance may also lead to further violations under RPC 8.1(b) and RPC 8.4(d) and could result in contempt charges under Rule 1:10-2.
