On Wednesday, January 31, 2024, the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Second Judicial Department, disbarred attorney Peter A. Saad, Jr.

The case is entitled “In the Matter of Peter A. Saad, Jr.,” with case number 2021-02662 and 2022-00220.

The disciplinary proceedings were initiated by the Grievance Committee for the Tenth Judicial District against Saad, who had been suspended from the practice of law by a prior decision and order on motion dated June 3, 2022. The court had found him guilty of professional misconduct.

Saad faced a series of charges related to his legal representation in various matters. The charges included failure to keep clients informed, failure to comply with clients’ requests for information, failure to pay or deliver client funds, and misappropriation of funds entrusted to him as a fiduciary.

Despite the numerous charges, Saad failed to appear for the hearing, and his lack of cooperation in the disciplinary proceedings was considered a significant aggravating factor. The court, after carefully considering the evidence presented and Saad’s disciplinary history, concluded that disbarment was warranted.

The order, effective immediately, disbarred Peter A. Saad, Jr., and directed the striking of his name from the roll of attorneys and counselors-at-law. Saad was further mandated to comply with the rules governing the conduct of disbarred attorneys, cease practicing law, and return any secure pass issued by the Office of Court Administration. The court emphasized that Saad should refrain from practicing law, offering legal opinions, or holding himself out as an attorney.

The Disposition states:

“ORDERED that the respondent, Peter A. Saad, Jr., admitted as Peter Anthony Saad, Jr., a suspended attorney, is disbarred, effective immediately, and his name is stricken from the roll of attorneys and counselors-at-law.”
