On Tuesday, February 27, 2024, Ary News reported that Suffolk County attorney Jordan Endler was arrested for harassing an employee at an Islamic center in Melville, New York.

According to the report, the 46-year-old attorney from East Northport had gone to the Islamic Center of Melville on February 21, 2024, and began questioning an employee who opened the door. The employee then allowed Endler to enter the building. Once inside, Endler allegedly began to harass the employee. When asked to leave, Endler reportedly refused and began yelling at the employee. He remained at the Islamic center until the police arrived.

Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond Tierney announced Endler’s arrest. He was taken into custody by Suffolk County police at his home on February 22, 2024. Tierney said his office would not tolerate bias or hate and thanked the Muslim community for alerting them of the incident. The district attorney reiterated that all Suffolk County residents must feel safe in their places of worship, regardless of faith.

On February 23, 2024, Endler was arraigned in front of Judge Alonzo Jacobs on charges of criminal trespassing in the third degree, a class B misdemeanor, and harassment in the second degree, a violation. The judge released Endler on his own recognizance during the legal process but issued an order of protection for the employee as requested by the district attorney’s office.

Endler’s next court appearance is scheduled for April 3, 2024, where he will be represented by defense attorney Bob Curran. The case against Endler is being prosecuted by Emma Behrens of the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Intake & Discovery Compliance Bureau.
