On Thursday, September 11, 2025, the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Third Judicial Department granted Attorney Cedric Charles Bossert’s application to resign from the New York Bar for nondisciplinary reasons.
The case is entitled “In the Matter of Cedric Charles Bossert,” with case no. PM-201-25.
The Attorney Grievance Committee for the Third Judicial Department (AGC), represented by Alison M. Coan, did not oppose Bossert’s resignation. The court’s decision was based upon Bossert’s affidavit, sworn to on July 1, 2025, and filed on July 14, 2025, and the August 26, 2025, correspondence from the Deputy Chief Attorney for the AGC.
The court has ordered that Bossert’s name be stricken from the roll of attorneys and counselors-at-law in New York State, effective immediately, and until further order of the court. This action follows the Rules for Attorney Disciplinary Matters [22 NYCRR] § 1240.22 [b].
As a result of the resignation, Bossert is commanded to cease practicing law in any form within New York State, whether as a principal, agent, clerk, or employee. He is forbidden from appearing as an attorney or counselor-at-law before any court, judge, justice, board, commission, or other public authority.
Furthermore, he cannot provide legal opinions or advice, nor can he present himself as an attorney and counselor-at-law in New York. The court has further ordered that Bossert surrender any Attorney Secure Pass issued to him to the Office of Court Administration within 30 days of the decision.
The Disposition states:
“It is ORDERED that Cedric Charles Bossert’s application for permission to resign is granted and his nondisciplinary resignation is accepted.”
According to Martindale.com, Mr. Bossert acquired his law license in New York in 1985.
