On Thursday, September 11, 2025, the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Third Judicial Department granted Attorney Christopher Lee Ashley’s application to resign from the New York Bar for nondisciplinary reasons. The Attorney Grievance Committee for the Third Judicial Department (AGC) did not oppose Ashley’s resignation, according to the filing.

The case is entitled “In the Matter of Christopher Lee Ashley,” with case no. PM-200-25.

Ashley’s affidavit, sworn to on June 24, 2025, was filed on August 4, 2025. The Deputy Chief Attorney for the AGC responded with correspondence on August 27, 2025.

The court, having determined that Ashley is eligible to resign for nondisciplinary reasons, determined that Ashley met the requirements for resignation.

As a result of the court’s order, Ashley’s name has been removed from the roll of attorneys and counselors-at-law in New York State, effective immediately.

The court has ordered Ashley to cease practicing law in any capacity within New York State, whether as a principal, agent, clerk, or employee. He is prohibited from appearing as an attorney or counselor-at-law before any court, judge, justice, board, commission, or other public authority. Ashley is also forbidden from providing legal opinions or advice and from presenting himself as an attorney and counselor-at-law in New York.

The Disposition states:

“It is ORDERED that Christopher Lee Ashley’s application for permission to resign is granted and his nondisciplinary resignation is accepted.”

According to the filing, Mr. Ashley acquired his law license in New York in 2015.
