On Friday, December 22, 2023, the New York Supreme Court Appellate Division, Fourth Judicial Department reinstated attorney Catherine Connolly to the practice of law in New York state. Connolly had previously resigned from the bar, submitting an affidavit of resignation to the Appellate Division.
The case is entitled “In the Matter of Catherine Connolly,” with case no. 2023 NY Slip Op 06706.
In a brief, one-paragraph memorandum and order filed on December 6, 2023, the Fourth Judicial Department of the New York Supreme Court granted Connolly’s application for reinstatement. The order signed by five justices did not provide details on why Connolly had resigned or what factors led the court to reinstate her license to practice law in New York.
With reinstatement granted, Catherine Connolly is now eligible once again to represent clients and practice law in the state of New York after a period of resignation from the profession.
