On Thursday, August 28, 2025, the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Third Judicial Department granted the resignation of attorney Donald Robert Kinsley. Kinsley sought to resign for nondisciplinary reasons, a request that was supported by the Attorney Grievance Committee for the Third Judicial Department.

The case is entitled “In the Matter of Donald Robert Kinsley,” with case no. PM-182-25.

Kinsley submitted his resignation application along with an affidavit sworn on August 11, 2025. His formal request was filed with the court on August 13, 2025. The Attorney Grievance Committee indicated that it did not oppose Kinsley’s resignation.

The court reviewed Kinsley’s affidavit and the subsequent correspondence from the Deputy Chief Attorney for the Attorney Grievance Committee before making its decision. After determining that Kinsley was eligible to resign without any disciplinary implications, the court accepted his resignation.

As a result of this ruling, Kinsley’s name has been officially removed from the roll of attorneys and counselors-at-law in New York, effective immediately. The court ordered Kinsley to refrain from any practice of law within the state in any capacity, including as an agent, clerk, or employee of another attorney. He is also prohibited from representing himself as an attorney before any public authority, court, or commission. Additionally, Kinsley has been instructed to surrender any Attorney Secure Pass issued to him to the Office of Court Administration within 30 days of the decision.

The Disposition states:

“It is ORDERED that Donald Robert Kinsley’s application for permission to resign is granted and his nondisciplinary resignation is accepted.”
