On Thursday, September 4, 2025, the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, First Judicial Department granted the reinstatement of attorney Colin Connor McNary to the bar. McNary had been suspended from practicing law for 18 months, effective May 30, 2023, and was directed to participate in the New York City Bar Association’s Lawyer Assistance Program for one year.
The case is entitled “In the Matter of Colin Connor McNary,” with case no. 2024-03289.
The court’s decision followed a motion filed by McNary’s attorney, Michael S. Ross, on May 1, 2025, seeking reinstatement under provisions of 22 NYCRR 1240.16(a) and (b). The Lawyers’ Fund for Client Protection submitted a letter on May 7, 2025, indicating no objections to McNary’s reinstatement. Additionally, the Attorney Grievance Committee affirmed on August 8, 2025, that it did not oppose the motion for reinstatement.
Following a thorough review of the motion and the supporting documents, the court approved McNary’s request. As part of the reinstatement process, McNary is required to register with the Office of Court Administration and pay any applicable registration fees in accordance with Judiciary Law § 468-a.
