On Thursday, May 8, 2025, the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Third Judicial Department granted the reinstatement of attorney Felipe Rodrigues Caldas Feres to the practice of law. Feres had been suspended in September 2024 for violating Judiciary Law § 468-a.

The case is entitled “In the Matter of Felipe Rodrigues Caldas Feres,” with case no. PM-109-25.

Feres submitted a motion for reinstatement dated February 11, 2025. The Attorney Grievance Committee for the Third Judicial Department reviewed the motion and provided responsive correspondence on March 27, 2025. The court evaluated the motion during a calendar session on March 31, 2025.

The court determined, based on clear and convincing evidence, that Feres met the necessary criteria for reinstatement. Specifically, he had complied with the suspension order and the court’s rules, demonstrated the requisite character and fitness to resume practicing law, and his reinstatement was deemed to be in the public interest.

Consequently, the court granted Feres’ motion, allowing him to resume his role as an attorney and counselor-at-law effective immediately.

The Disposition states:

“It is ORDERED that respondent’s motion for reinstatement is granted; and it is further ORDERED that respondent is reinstated as an attorney and counselor-at-law, effective immediately.”

According to Avvo.com, Mr. Feres acquired his law license in New York in 2012.
