On Thursday, October 3, 2024, the Supreme Court of the State of New York, Appellate Division, First Judicial Department reinstated Attorney Jay Frederick Goldberg to practice law.
The case is entitled “In the Matter of Jay Frederick Goldberg,” with case no. 2024-05252.
Goldberg had been suspended from practice on March 6, 2008, for failing to comply with New York Judiciary Law Section 468-a. Goldberg filed a motion seeking reinstatement. The court noted that Goldberg had now complied with Judiciary Law Section 468-a, on July 26, 2010, and again on July 30, 2024, after the suspension date.
Based on Goldberg now satisfying the Judiciary Law, the New York Court issued an order granting the motion and immediately reinstating Goldberg’s license to practice law in New York.
The Disposition states:
“It is ordered that the motion is granted and petitioner is reinstated as an attorney and counselor-at-law in the State of New York, effective the date hereof.”
According to the filing, Mr. Goldberg acquired his law license in New York in 1990.
