On Thursday, August 28, 2025, the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Third Judicial Department granted the reinstatement of attorney Joshua Allen Harvey. This decision followed a motion filed by Harvey seeking to return to legal practice after an order of suspension issued in May 2019 due to violations of Judiciary Law § 468-a.

The case is entitled “In the Matter of Joshua Allen Harvey,” with case no. PM-178-25

The court reviewed Harvey’s motion alongside his affidavit and supporting documents, which were sworn on June 30, 2025. Additionally, the Attorney Grievance Committee for the Third Judicial Department provided responsive correspondence dated August 5, 2025. After careful consideration, the court determined that Harvey had met all necessary conditions for reinstatement.

Key findings included that Harvey had complied with the terms of his suspension, adhered to applicable rules set forth by the court, and demonstrated the character and fitness required to practice law. The court also concluded that reinstating Harvey would serve the public interest. As a result of this ruling, Joshua Allen Harvey is now officially reinstated as an attorney and counselor-at-law, effective immediately.
