On Thursday, July 31, 2025, the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Third Judicial Department granted the reinstatement of attorney Livia Solange Dobrev to the practice of law. This decision comes after Dobrev’s suspension in January 2014, which was based on violations of Judiciary Law § 468-a.

The case is entitled “In the Matter of Livia Solange Dobrev,” with case no. PM-171-25.

Dobrev submitted an affidavit along with supporting documents, which were sworn to on May 1, 2025. The Attorney Grievance Committee for the Third Judicial Department responded to her motion on June 16, 2025.

After careful consideration, the court determined that Dobrev met the necessary criteria for reinstatement. Specifically, the court found that she had adhered to the conditions of her suspension, complied with court regulations, and demonstrated the requisite character and fitness to resume her legal practice. The court concluded that reinstating Dobrev would serve the public interest.

The Disposition states:

“It is ORDERED that respondent’s motion for reinstatement is granted; and it is further ORDERED that respondent is reinstated as an attorney and counselor-at-law, effective immediately.”
