On Thursday, July 10, 2025, the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Third Judicial Department granted attorney Nicole Sophie Christ’s motion for reinstatement to practice law in New York. The decision followed her suspension in September 2022 for violating Judiciary Law § 468-a.
The case is entitled “In the Matter of Nicole Sophie Christ,” with case no. PM-151-25.
The court’s decision was made after reviewing Christ’s motion and supporting documents, including an affidavit sworn on March 12, 2025, and supplemental materials dated April 30 and May 5, 2025. The Attorney Grievance Committee for the Third Judicial Department provided responsive correspondence on April 30, 2025. The court evaluated these materials to determine whether Christ met the criteria for reinstatement.
The New York Court found clear and convincing evidence that Christ fulfilled the requirements outlined in the Rules of the Appellate Division, Third Department (22 NYCRR § 806.16). Specifically, the court confirmed that she complied with the suspension order and the court’s rules, demonstrated the necessary character and fitness to resume legal practice, and that her reinstatement would serve the public interes.
The Disposition states:
“It is ORDERED that respondent’s motion for reinstatement is granted; and it is further ORDERED that respondent is reinstated as an attorney and counselor-at-law, effective immediately.”
According to Avvo.com, Ms. Christ acquired her law license in New York in 2010.
