On Thursday, May 1, 2025, the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, First Judicial Department granted Robert William DeJoy’s motion for reinstatement as a retired attorney.

The case is entitled “In the Matter of Robert William DeJoy,” with case no. 2025-01767.

DeJoy had been suspended on March 20, 2025, for failing to comply with Judiciary Law Section 468-a, which governs attorney registration requirements.

DeJoy subsequently met the requirements of the law on or about March 24, 2025.

Following a review of his motion and supporting documents, the court, presided over by Justice Peter H. Moulton alongside Justices Barbara R. Kapnick, Saliann Scarpulla, Julio Rodriguez III, and Llinét M. Rosado, approved his reinstatement.

According to Avvo.com, Mr. Dejoy is a tax attorney in New York, New York. He attended Albany Law School. He acquired his law license in New York in 1981.
