On Thursday, August 24, 2023, the State of New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Third Judicial Department granted the application and accepted the resignation of Attorney Bruce E. Mantell for non-disciplinary reasons.

The case is titled ‘In the Matter of Bruce E. Mantell,’ with case no.PM-181-23.

Attorney Mantell who listed a business address in Basking Ridge, New Jersey,  filed his application for resignation on June 20, 2023.  After thorough consideration, Attorney Mantell was determined by the Attorney Grievance Committee to be eligible to resign for non-disciplinary reasons. The committee therefore did not oppose the application which caused the State of New York Supreme Court to grant and accept the non-disciplinary resignation.

The resignation having been accepted, the Court further ordered that the name of Attorney Bruce E. Mantell be stricken from the roll of attorneys and counselors-at-law in the state and barred him from practicing law in any capacity.

The order states:

“ORDERED that Bruce E. Mantell’s application for permission to resign is granted and his nondisciplinary resignation is accepted, and it is further

ORDERED that Bruce E. Mantell’s name is hereby stricken from the roll of attorneys and counselors-at-law of the State of New York, effective immediately, and until further order of this Court.”

Attorney Mantell received his B.S. from Lehigh University, his J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law, and his LL.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law.
