On Thursday, July 13, 2023, the State of New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division Third Judicial Department granted the motion for reinstatement of attorney Jun Sung Park.
The case is entitled “Attorney Grievance Committee for the Third Judicial Department v. Jun Sung Park” with case no. PM-146-23.
Jun Sung Parkt has filed a motion requesting the court to reinstate him as a practicing attorney. He was previously suspended in September 2022, as per the court’s order in a case titled “Matter of Attorneys in Violation of Judiciary Law § 468-a, 208 AD3d 1421, 1439 [3d Dept 2022].” The rules governing attorney disciplinary matters, specifically “Rules for Attorney Disciplinary Matters and “Rules of Appellate Division, 3rd Department [22 NYCRR] § 806.16,” are relevant to his request.
Upon thorough examination of the respondent’s notice of motion and accompanying affidavit with exhibits, all dated March 20, 2023, as well as the correspondence received from the Attorney Grievance Committee for the Third Judicial Department on April 24, 2023, the court has reached a conclusive decision. The court noted that it was evident that Jun Sung Park had not only complied meticulously with the court’s suspension order but had also demonstrated the highest level of adherence to the rules set forth by the court.
Moreover, the respondent’s character and fitness to practice law have been convincingly established. Given these findings and considering the best interests of the public, as per the “Rules for Attorney Disciplinary Matters [22 NYCRR] § 1240.16 [a],” the court grants the respondent’s motion for reinstatement. Consequently, the respondent was reinstated as an attorney and counselor-at-law, with immediate effect.
The Disposition states:
“ORDERED that respondent’s motion for reinstatement is granted; and it is further ORDERED that respondent is reinstated as an attorney and counselor-at-law, effective immediately.”
Mr. Park is licensed in New York with license no. 4308144.
