On Thursday, November 2, 2023, the Supreme Court of New York Appellate Division, Third Judicial Department reinstated attorney Edward Marc Sossner to the practice of law. Sossner had been suspended from practice by an order of the same court issued in September 2022.

The case is entitled “In the Matter of Edward Marc Sossner,” with case no. PM-252-23.

Sossner filed a motion seeking reinstatement following his suspension. The Attorney Grievance Committee for the Third Judicial Department opposed Sossner’s reinstatement. Sossner replied to the committee’s opposition and filed supplemental information in support of his motion on September 11, 2023.

In its responsive correspondence dated August 31, 2023, the Attorney Grievance Committee found that Sossner had satisfactorily met the requirements for reinstatement as outlined in the Rules for Attorney Disciplinary Matters.

The court therefore granted Sossner’s motion for reinstatement and immediately reinstated him as an attorney authorized to practice law in New York.

The Disposition states

“ORDERED that respondent’s motion for reinstatement is granted; and it is further ORDERED that respondent is reinstated as an attorney and counselor-at-law, effective immediately.”

According to avvo.com, Mr. Sossner is a real estate attorney in Loudonville, New York. He acquired his law license in New York in 1993.
