On Thursday, January 12, 2023, the New York Supreme Court Appellate Division Third Judicial Department entered an Order striking Texas Attorney Edward Arnim Mallett’s name from the roll of attorneys of the State of New York pursuant to Mallett’s application for resignation from the state bar for non-disciplinary reasons.
The case is styled as ‘In the Matter of Edward Arnim Mallett’ with case no. PM-03-23.
According to the Memorandum and Order on Motion, Mallett has been admitted to practice in New York in 2008. Mallet sought resignation and filed his affidavit on December 9, 2022, to which Attorney Grievance Committee opposed no objection.
Accordingly, the Court, upon determination of Mallett’s eligibility to resign for non-disciplinary reasons, ruled in favor of Mallett.
The disposition reads in part:
“ORDERED that Edward Arnim Mallett’s application for permission to resign is granted and his nondisciplinary resignation is accepted; and it is further
ORDERED that Edward Arnim Mallett’s name is hereby stricken from the roll of attorneys and counselors-at-law of the State of New York, effective immediately, and until further order of this Court.”
Mr. Edward Arnim Mallett had been licensed in New York.
