On Monday, April 17, 2023, the Supreme Court of Ohio ordered the reinstatement of Kentucky attorney Lisa Marie Wells.

The case is styled ‘Disciplinary Counsel v. Wells,’ with case no. 2022-0362.

On December 10, 2019, the Court placed Wells on interim suspension in relation to her felony conviction in 2017 for operating while under the influence.

Wells’ conviction stemmed from her arrest in Miami County following a January 25, 2016, stop and after a trooper discovered pills on the front seat and various pills in Wells’ purse during a search.

Moreover, on May 24, 2022, the Court suspended Wells from the practice of law for two years with credit for time served under the December 10, 2019, interim suspension.

The Court, having found that Wells has complied with the Order and with the provisions of Supreme Court Rules for the Government of the Bar of Ohio V(24), ruled in favor of Wells and granted her petition for reinstatement.
