On Wednesday, March 1, 2023, the Supreme Court of Ohio ordered Dublin Attorney Austin Roan Buttars’s suspension from the practice of law for an interim period over a felony conviction.

The case is styled In re Buttars, Case #2023-0284.

The interim suspension order was pursuant to Ohio Gov Bar Rule V(18). The director of the Board of Professional Conduct filed with the Court a certified copy of a judgment entry of a felony conviction against Respondent.

Based on Buttar’s conviction, the Court ordered that Buttars be placed on an interim suspension effective as of the date of entry of the Order.

The Court also ordered that the matter will be investigated by a disciplinary counsel and for disciplinary proceedings to commence.

Buttars was previously suspended indefinitely by an order of the court dated April 21, 2020, for his conviction of a fourth-degree felony of theft. The suspension was effective June 4, 2019, the date of his felony conviction.

Prior to the suspension, Mr. Austin Roan Buttars practiced in Dublin and has been licensed in Ohio, license #0091338.
