On Tuesday, February 7, 2023, the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania ruled on the Motion for Reconsideration filed by Philadelphia Attorney Jacqueline Patricia Gruhler’s disbarment retroactive to the previous suspension.
The case is styled Office of Disciplinary Counsel v. Jacqueline Patricia Gruhler and was brought by the former under case no. 87 DB 2020.
Gruhler was placed on temporary suspension on June 18, 2020, and later disbarred by consent on December 30, 2022, in consideration of the Verified Statement of Resignation from the Pennsylvania Bar filed by Gruhler. The disbarment stemmed from Gruhler’s arrest and charges involving controlled dangerous substances and weapons in the State of New Jersey on June 25, 2019. Gruhler was thereafter disbarred in New Jersey on February 22, 2021.
Gruhler sought for her disbarment to be retroactive to June 18, 2020, the date of her temporary suspension in Pennsylvania.
Accordingly, the Court having considered Gruhler’s motion and the Office of Disciplinary Counsel’s response thereto ruled in favor of Gruhler and disbarred Gruhler on consent from the Pennsylvania bar, retroactive to June 18, 2020.
Prior to the disbarment, Ms. Jacqueline Patricia Gruhler practiced in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with the law firm Cohen, Placitella & Roth, PC. She has been admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, license no. 203067, as well as in New Jersey. Her info can be found on LinkedIn.
