On Thursday, March 23, 2023, the State of New York, Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Third Judicial Department, in a memorandum and order on motion granted the petition for reinstatement of attorney Ann Desiree Thoeny.

The case is entitled “In the matter of Ann Desiree Thoeny” with case no. PM-56-23.

Attorney Thoeny filed a motion of petition for reinstatement following her suspension in May of 2019 through an order of the court In the matter of Attorneys in Violation of Judiciary Law § 468-a.

Upon reading the respondent’s sworn notice of motion and affidavit attached with exhibits filed on October 20, 2022, along with the supplemental affidavit sworn by the same on December 13, 2022, and a responsive correspondence from the Attorney Grievance Committee for the Third Judicial Department determining that the respondent has already complied with the order of suspension and the rules of the court, and has the requisite character and fitness to practice law, the court granted the petition for reinstatement of the respondent.

The order states:

“ORDERED that respondent’s motion for reinstatement is granted, and it is further ORDERED that respondent is reinstated as an attorney and counselor-at-law, effective immediately.”
