On Thursday, July 20, 2023, the Supreme Court of the State of New York Appellate Division, Third Judicial Department granted the application of Shanghai attorney Shaonan Wang to resign from the NY Bar for non-disciplinary reasons.

The case is titled “In the Matter of Shaonan Wang,” case no. PM-152-23.

According to the court document, Wang filed a motion seeking to resign from the New York State Bar on June 16, 2023, to which the Attorney Grievance Committee did not file any objection thereto.

Accordingly, the Court, upon determination of Wang’s eligibility to resign for non-disciplinary reasons, entered an order accepting Wang’s resignation.

The disposition reads:

“ORDERED that Shaonan Wang’s application for permission to resign is granted and her nondisciplinary resignation is accepted;

ORDERED that Shaonan Wang’s name is hereby stricken from the roll of attorneys and counselors-at law of the State of New York, effective immediately. . .”

Mr. Shaonan Wang earned a law degree from the Northwestern University School of Law in Chicago. She practices in Shanghai, China. Shannon has been admitted to practice in New York in 2021, license no. 5813472.
