On Thursday, November 10, 2022, the Supreme Court of Florida ordered the revocation of Jacksonville Beach attorney Chris Ambrosio’s membership in the Florida Bar, with leave to seek readmission amid pending disciplinary charges based on his felony conviction.
The case, titled In Re: Petition for Disciplinary Revocation of Chris Ambrosio was brought by Chris Ambrosio under case no. SC22-1244.
The Petition states that:
“The Florida Bar Case No. 2021-00,383(4C) is pending at staff level and alleges that on or about September 9, 2022, in Duval County Case number 16-2021-CF-002764-AX-MA, Petitioner entered a plea of guilty to one count of third degree felony child abuse under § 827.03(2)(c), Fla. Stat.”
The Petition continues:
“Petitioner contends that granting this petition will not adversely affect the public interest, the integrity of the courts, or the confidence of the public in the legal profession. Further, Petitioner contends that granting this petition will not hinder the administration of justice.
Ambrosio knowingly and voluntarily submitted his petition with full knowledge of its effect. In addition, Ambrosio agreed to eliminate all indicia of his status as an attorney on email, social media, telephone listings, stationery, business cards, office signs, or any other indicia of the petitioner’s status as an attorney.
Accordingly, the Supreme Court of Florida granted Ambrosio’s petition.
The Order reads:
“The uncontested petition for disciplinary revocation, as provided by Rule 3-7.12, Rules Regulating the Florida Bar, with leave to seek readmission after five years, is granted subject to the continuing jurisdiction of this Court.”
Costs were assessed against Ambrosio in the amount of $1,326.46.
Prior to this revocation, Mr. Chris Ambrosio practiced in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. He had been licensed in Florida.
