On Thursday, June 8, 2023, the Supreme Court of Maryland reinstated attorney Jason Eric Fisher after being disciplined for financial improprieties.

The case is entitled “In the Matter of Jason Eric Fisher,” with case no. 36.

On August 4, 2020, the Sentinel reported that the Attorney Grievance Commission of Maryland claimed that an internal investigation revealed that the respondent committed several ethical violations related to financial improprieties. The Maryland Court of Appeals disbarred the same, citing four violations of ethical misconduct that include committing a criminal act, engaging in fraudulent conduct, and engaging in conduct that is prejudicial to the administration of justice.

The report states:

“Fisher consented to the disbarment saying through his attorney he decided not to challenge the disbarment because of medical issues.

“Mr. Fisher, a talented and highly effective attorney, experienced an exceptionally difficult period over the last few years,” said Fisher’s lawyer Bruce Marcus in a statement. “He was, unfortunately, plagued by a series of intensely challenging personal crises which collectively, led to medical issues.

“Regrettably, during this period his judgment and insight were impaired. Mr. Fisher cooperated with Bar Counsel regarding these issues and he consented to giving up his license to practice law. He is receiving appropriate support and looks forward to moving ahead in a positive direction.”

After serving his discipline and after a careful review of the verified petition for reinstatement of the respondent to the Maryland Bar, the response from the Bar Counsel, and Mr. Fisher’s reply to the Bar Counsel’s response, the Supreme Court of Maryland, with the majority of the court in agreement, issued its decision to reinstate the respondent.

The Disposition states:

“ORDERED that the Petition is GRANTED, and the Petitioner, Jason Eric Fisher, is reinstated to the practice of law in this State.”

Mr. Fisher practices in Bethesda, Maryland. He is licensed in Maryland. His info can be found on lawyersjustia.com.
