On Wednesday, October 5, 2022, the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania ordered Cherry Hill Attorney Barry Jay Beran, a/k/a Barry J. Beran’s three-year suspension from the practice of law.

The case is styled In the Matter of Barry Jay Beran, a/k/a Barry J. Beran, and was brought by the Office of Disciplinary Counsel under case no. 101 DB 2022.

On October 5, 2021, the Supreme Court of New Jersey issued back-to-back suspension orders against Mr. Beran, concerning case nos. D-109 and D-129 September Term 2020.

The first suspension order stemmed from case no. D-109 order which suspended  Mr. Beran for three years consecutive to the three-year suspension the Supreme Court of New Jersey imposed on September 23, 2020; while the second suspension order involves case no. D-129 which got Mr. Beran suspended for three years, to be concurrent to case D-109 three-year term suspension.

According to the Order, Mr. Beran was previously suspended for three years by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court on May 6, 2021. A Notice and Order directing him to provide reasons against the imposition of reciprocal discipline was issued but Mr. Beran failed to respond to the same.

With the foregoing facts, the Court ruled for the imposition of reciprocal discipline against Mr. Heyburn.

The Order reads:

“Barry Jay Beran, a/k/a Barry J. Beran, is suspended from the practice of law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for a period of three years, consecutive to the three-year term of suspension ordered by this Court on May 6, 2021. He shall also comply with all the provisions of Pa.R.D.E. 217.”

Mr. Beran has been licensed in Pennsylvania, license no. 35896, as well as in New Jersey.
