On Wednesday, July 3, 2024, Attorney Jonathan Lee Young received a public censure from the Supreme Court of Tennessee.
The case is entitled “In the Matter of Jonathan Lee Young.”
The charges cited Tennessee Rules of Professional Conduct 1.3, 3.3(a) and 3.4(b).
According to a press release from the Board of Professional Responsibility, Mr. Young had represented a client in an emergency conservatorship case. During the representation, he improperly signed another attorney’s name to a court order without authorization and presented the order ex parte to a judge to obtain a signature.
He also failed to file the signed order with the court and did not notify the appointed guardian ad litem. In the same case, Mr. Young submitted court filings with incomplete information and documents with incorrect notarizations.
As part of a Conditional Guilty Plea, he accepted that his actions violated rules regarding diligence, candor toward the tribunal, and impartiality of the court.
According to avvo.com, Mr. Young is a general practice attorney in Rickman, Tennessee. He attended the University of Memphis – Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law. He acquired his law license in Tennessee in 1999.
