Nashville attorney Lindsey Leigh Lawrence received a public censure from the Tennessee Supreme Court’s Board of Professional Responsibility on Friday, July 14, 2023, for her misconduct. Lawrence had neglected a client and smoked marijuana in public in a YouTube video.

The case is entitled “In Re: Lindsey Leigh Lawrence,” case no. 72329-4-SC.

The charges cited Lawrence’s violation of the Rules of Professional Conduct 1.3(diligence), 1.4 (communication), 8.4(b) (criminal conduct); and 8.4(d) (conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice).

Lawrence, in her representation of a client in a probate matter, failed to diligently pursue the client’s legal interest and failed to maintain good communication with said client. Lawrence also posted a video of herself smoking marijuana, a conduct criminally actionable in Tennessee, and in such video, Lawrence identified herself as an attorney.

Based on these acts, the Court concluded that Lawrence had violated the above-cited rules of professional conduct, and entered an order publicly censuring Lawrence.
