On Thursday, November 9, 2023, the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Third Judicial Department issued a decision in the matter of Cynthia Hackett, also known as Cynthia Hackett Threet, an attorney. The court granted Hackett’s application and accepted her non-disciplinary resignation.

The case is entitled “In the Matter of Cynthia Hackett,” with case no. PM-256-23.

In her application, Hackett sought leave to resign from the New York bar for non-disciplinary reasons. The Attorney Grievance Committee for the Third Judicial Department did not oppose her application. Based on these events, the New York SC decided to accept Hackett’s resignation.

Hackett’s name was stricken from the roll of attorneys and counselors-at-law of the State of New York, and she was commanded to desist and refrain from the practice of law in any form in the State of New York. Hackett was also ordered to surrender her Attorney Secure Pass to the Office of Court Administration within 30 days of the date of the decision.

The Disposition states:

“ORDERED that Cynthia Hackett’s application for permission to resign is granted and her nondisciplinary resignation is accepted,”

According to avvo.com, Ms. Hackett is a commercial real estate attorney in Trenton, New Jersey. She acquired her law license in New York in 1997.
