On September 12, 2022, the Supreme Court of Ohio ordered the reinstatement of University Heights attorney Douglas Paul Whipple to law practice.

The case is styled as Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association v. Whipple, under case no. 2022-Ohio-3173.

On February 24,  2022, Petitioner was suspended from the practice of law for a period of one year with six months stayed on condition for filing a frivolous motion, filing a motion containing threats of criminal and professional-misconduct charges for the sole purpose of obtaining an advantage in a civil matter, and for having engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice.

According to the filing:

“This cause came on for further consideration upon the filing of an application for reinstatement by respondent, Douglas Paul Whipple, Attorney Registration No. 0025754, last known business address in University Heights, Ohio.”

The Supreme Court found that the respondent has complied with that order.

The Disposition reads:

“Therefore, it is ordered by this Court that respondent is reinstated to the practice of law in the State of Ohio.

It is further ordered that the clerk of this court issue certified copies of this order as provided for in Gov. Bar R. V(17)(E)(1) and that publication be made as provided for in Gov. Bar R. V(17(E)(2).”
