On Friday, April 11, 2025, the Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Board issued an interim suspension order against attorney Ann Bellamy Stoneburner. The suspension is set to remain in place until the Board determines that Stoneburner has complied with a subpoena duces tecum that was served on February 13, 2025.
The case is entitled “In the Matter of Ann Bellamy Stoneburner,” with case no. 25-010-134290.
The order mandates that Stoneburner must notify all clients for whom she is currently handling matters, as well as opposing attorneys and presiding judges involved in any pending litigation. Additionally, Stoneburner is required to make necessary arrangements for the disposition of her ongoing cases under her clients’ wishes, with a deadline of 45 days from the suspension date.
Furthermore, Stoneburner must provide proof of compliance to the Clerk of the Disciplinary System within 60 days, demonstrating that she has fulfilled the notice and arrangement requirements. If she is not actively managing any client matters at the time of suspension, she must submit an affidavit confirming this to the Clerk.
