On Tuesday, November 1, 2022, the Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Board ordered the suspension of Washington, DC attorney Edward Stuart Elan for failure to fully comply with a subpoena duces tecum issued by the Bar.
The case is styled ‘In the Matter of Evan Stuart Elan’, case no. 22-021-126025.
With the foregoing facts, the Board ruled against the Respondent.
The Interim Suspension Order reads:
“Pursuant to Part 6, Section IV, Paragraph 13-6.G.3 of the Rules of the Supreme Court of Virginia, it is ORDERED that Edward Stuart Elan’s license to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia be and hereby is suspended effective November 1, 2022. The suspension shall take effect until the Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Board determines that Edward Stuart Elan has fully complied with the subpoena duces tecum served on August 17, 2022.”
Respondent is included in the list of Virginia lawyers who have been administratively suspended for failure to comply with the Mandatory Continuing Legal Education requirements for 2021. Said list was posted on August 1, 2022, and last updated on August 9, 2022.
