On Thursday, February 5, 2026, attorney Hari L. Alipuria resigned from the Washington State Bar Association, according to documents filed with the Disciplinary Board. The resignation comes in lieu of disciplinary action, as stated in the Resignation Form.

Alipuria, admitted to practice law in Washington on June 23, 1997, voluntarily decided to resign from the WSBA under Rule 9.3 of the Washington Supreme Court’s Rules for Enforcement of Lawyer Conduct (ELC). As part of the resignation, Alipuria has consented to an order assessing expenses of $1,500.

Attached to the resignation form is Exhibit A, the Disciplinary Counsel’s statement of alleged misconduct, outlining several accusations against Alipuria. The statement alleges that Alipuria failed to maintain a contemporaneous check register and individual client ledgers for a trust account. It also claims that Alipuria did not perform monthly trust account reconciliations and, on at least one occasion between January 2022 and October 2024, deposited and retained personal funds in the trust account.

Additionally, the Disciplinary Counsel alleges that between January 2022 and October 2024, Alipuria used and/or converted client funds for personal use, including rent, homeowner’s association dues, gym membership, telephone and internet bills, and Amazon purchases. Alipuria is also accused of providing false testimony during a disciplinary deposition on March 13, 2024.

The Disciplinary Counsel alleges that Alipuria’s actions violated RPC 8.1(a), RPC 8.4(b) (by violating RCW 9A.72.040), RPC 8.4(c), RPC 1.15A(b), RPC 1.15A(c), RPC 1.15A(h)(1), RPC 1.15A(h)(2), RPC 1.15B(a)(1), RPC 1.15B(a)(2), RPC 1.15A(h)(6), and RPC 1.15A(h)(5).

Alipuria’s resignation is permanent, barring any future application for reinstatement unless the Washington Supreme Court changes its rules. If reinstatement is permitted, it will be treated as an application from someone disbarred for ethical misconduct. Alipuria will not be entitled to a reconsideration of the facts, complaints, or allegations upon which the resignation is based.
