On Tuesday, October 7, 2025, the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, First Judicial Department granted a motion reinstating Xinwei Lu as a retired attorney and counselor-at-law in the State of New York. Lu had previously been suspended from practicing law due to non-compliance with Judiciary Law §468-a. The original suspension order was issued on March 17, 2020.

The case is entitled “In the Matter of Xinwei Lu,” with case no. 2025-04995.

Following the suspension, Lu took steps to rectify the situation and achieved compliance with Judiciary Law §468-a by June 24, 2025.

Following the demonstration of compliance, Lu filed a motion seeking reinstatement, specifically requesting reinstatement as a retired attorney.

After reviewing the submitted documents and considering the circumstances, the court granted Lu’s motion.
