Lu had previously been suspended from practicing law due to non-compliance with Judiciary Law §468-a. The original suspension order was issued on March 17, 2020.

Following the suspension, Lu took steps to rectify the situation and achieved compliance with Judiciary Law §468-a by June 24, 2025.
Following the demonstration of compliance, Lu filed a motion seeking reinstatement, specifically requesting reinstatement as a retired attorney.
After reviewing the submitted documents and considering the circumstances, the court granted Lu’s motion.
