On Thursday, May 9, 2024, the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division Third Judicial Department accepted attorney Catherine Marie Squillace’s resignation from the New York State Bar for nondisciplinary reasons.

The case is entitled “In the Matter of Catherine Marie Squillace,” with case no. PM-85-24.

Squillace filed an affidavit on March 19, 2024, seeking nondisciplinary resignation. The Attorney Grievance Committee for the Third Judicial Department did not oppose her application for resignation.

In their memorandum and order, the court reviewed Squillace’s affidavit and correspondence from the Deputy Chief Attorney of the Grievance Committee. Upon determining that Squillace was eligible to resign from the bar for nondisciplinary reasons, the court accepted her resignation.

Squillace will be stricken from the roll of New York attorneys and counselors-at-law. She is now forbidden from practicing law or representing herself as an attorney in New York. Within 30 days, Squillace must also surrender any Attorney Secure Pass issued to her by the Office of Court Administration.

According to avvo.com, Ms. Squillace is an attorney in South Glastonbury, Connecticut. She attended the St John’s University School of Law. She acquired her law license in New York in 1989.
