On Tuesday, October 29, 2024, the Michigan Attorney Discipline Board issued an amended order reinstating the law license of attorney George W. Hyde.
The case is entitled “In the Matter of Attorney Grievance Commission v. George W. Hyde,” with case no. 23-60-GA.
The reinstatement comes after Hyde was suspended for 60 days on July 31, 2024, over multiple violations of professional conduct that occurred while representing a client in a civil case. The panel found Hyde neglected the client’s legal matter, failed to act with reasonable promptness, neglected to keep the client informed or comply with information requests, and neglected to make reasonable efforts to expedite the litigation in the client’s interests.
On October 16, 2024, Hyde filed an affidavit with the Board asserting he had fully complied with all terms of the initial suspension order.
With no objection from the Office of Attorney Grievance Counsel, the Board issued the amended reinstatement order, officially restoring Hyde’s ability to practice law in Michigan again effective October 28, 2024.
According to avvo.com, Mr. Hyde III is a criminal defense attorney in Marquette, Michigan. He attended the Thomas M. Cooley Law School, graduating in 1994. He acquired his law license in Michigan in the same year.
