On Monday, May 19, 2025, the Supreme Court of Ohio accepted the resignation of Attorney Algis Sirvaitis, with disciplinary action pending.

The case is entitled “In the Matter of Algis Sirvaitis,” with case no. 2025-0588.

Sirvaitis submitted his application for retirement or resignation earlier in 2025. The matter was referred to disciplinary counsel, and on April 28, 2025, the Office of Attorney Services filed a sealed report with the court as required by Gov.Bar R. VI(11)(B)(2).

The court’s order, effective immediately, revokes all of Sirvaitis’s rights and privileges to practice law in Ohio. He is prohibited from holding himself out as an attorney, providing legal services, or appearing before courts, judges, boards, commissions, or other public authorities in the state. Additionally, Sirvaitis is barred from giving legal opinions or advice.

Within 30 days, Sirvaitis must surrender his certificate of admission to the court clerk and notify all clients, co-counsel, and opposing parties in pending matters of his disqualification. He is required to deliver or arrange for the pickup of client papers and property, refund unearned fees, and file notices of disqualification with relevant courts or agencies. All notices must be sent via certified mail. Sirvaitis must also file an affidavit with the court clerk and disciplinary counsel, confirming compliance and providing an address for future communications.

The court further ordered Sirvaitis to reimburse any amounts awarded against him by the Lawyers’ Fund for Client Protection within 90 days.

The Disposition states:

“On consideration thereof, it is ordered by the court that pursuant to Gov.Bar R. VI(11)(C), the resignation as an attorney and counselor at law is accepted as a resignation with disciplinary action pending.”

According to Avvo.com, Mr. Sirvaitis was an elder law attorney in Cleveland, Ohio. He acquired his law license in Ohio in 1966.
