On Wednesday, May 3, 2023, the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania disbarred attorney Scott Brian Allinson after his conviction for conspiracy to commit bribery.
The case is entitled “Office of the Disciplinary Counsel v. Scott Brian Allinson” with case no. 96 DB 2018.
On April 14, 2023, the respondent tendered his unconditional resignation from the practice of law after a federal jury found in 2018 that he was guilty of conspiracy to commit bribery in violation of 18 U.S.C. After being temporarily suspended for the same, the respondent filed his resignation as a member of the Bar of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
According to the respondent, his resignation is freely and voluntarily rendered and he is not being subjected to coercion or duress and he is fully aware of the implications of submitting the said resignation. Moreover, the respondent acknowledged that he is fully aware of his right to consult with and employ counsel to represent him in the proceeding. He has retained, consulted with, and acted upon the advice of counsel in connection with his decision to execute the said resignation.
Upon the consideration of the verified statement of resignation, the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania decided to disbar the respondent.
The Disposition states:
“AND NOW, this 3rd day of May 2023, upon consideration of the Verified Statement of Resignation, Scott Brian Allinson is disbarred on consent from the Bar of this Commonwealth. See Pa.R.D.E. 215. The respondent’s request that the disbarment be made retroactive is denied. See Pa.R.D.E. 217(e)(1) Note. Respondent shall comply with the provisions of Pa.R.D.E. 217 and pay costs to the Disciplinary Board. See Pa.R.D.E. 208(g).”
