On Monday, June 17, 2024, Andrew John Manie filed a petition seeking reinstatement to the Florida Bar after being suspended on two separate occasions over the past two years.

The case is entitled “In the Matter of Andrew John Manie,” with case nos. 2021-30, 486(5A), 2023-30, 723(09B)(OSC); and 2024-30,008(09B).

Manie has been employed full-time as an intake data analyst at Integreon Managed Solutions since his initial suspension in July 2022. His duties involve reviewing and inputting information from contract request forms into a database to ensure accuracy and train newly hired employees.

Manie’s first six-month suspension stemmed from a 2019 incident where he engaged in a consensual sexual act in exchange for money with a woman he believed was over 18 but was actually 17 years and 9 months old. He fully cooperated with the criminal investigation and was granted immunity from prosecution.

His second six-month suspension resulted from missing court appearances due to debilitating medical issues from his service in the Marines, which caused PTSD. He also deposited settlement funds from a personal injury case he handled pro bono into his operating account instead of a trust account during the 2020 COVID shutdown.

In his reinstatement petition, Manie outlined extensive efforts at rehabilitation since his suspensions began. He has dedicated over 198 hours to volunteer work with food banks and organizations assisting veterans. Manie has also engaged in ongoing individual counseling and medical treatments to address his PTSD from childhood trauma and military experiences.

To further his education, Manie is currently enrolled in a project management certificate program. He expressed profound remorse and accepted full responsibility for his past actions which led to the suspensions. Letters of character reference were submitted attesting to Manie’s good character in the community.

Manie stated he has paid all costs associated with the disciplinary proceedings, totaling over $8,000. He is current on his Florida Bar membership dues as well. All outstanding financial obligations were disclosed totaling around $260,000, primarily from mortgages, loans, and credit cards.

The petition maintains Manie has abided by the conditions of the disciplinary orders and engages in no further misconduct warranting denial of reinstatement. If approved, Manie’s mediator certification held prior to the suspensions would also be reinstated pending review.

The petition states:

“WHEREFORE, Petitioner, Andrew John Manie, respectfully requests that he be reinstated to the practice of law as a member in good standing of The Florida Bar.”

According to avvo.com, Mr. Manie attended Barry University, Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law. He acquired his law license in Florida in 2015.
