On Thursday, April 18, 2024, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of New York, Third Judicial Department granted Scott Douglas Pinsky’s application for nondisciplinary resignation.
The case is entitled “In the Matter of Scott Douglas Pinsky,” with case no. PM-68-24.
Pinsky had applied to resign from the bar for nondisciplinary reasons. However, the Attorney Grievance Committee opposed the application because Pinsky was initially delinquent in fulfilling his 2023-2024 attorney registration requirements.
Pinsky then submitted supplemental documentation dated April 4, 2024, showing he was current with registration. Satisfied with this, and with no other substantiated objections, the Appellate Court accepted Pinsky’s resignation from practicing law in New York.
As a result, Pinsky’s name will be removed from the roll of New York attorneys, and he is forbidden from practicing law or representing himself as an attorney in the state. Within Pinsky must also surrender any Attorney Secure Pass issued to him to the Office of Court Administration.
According to avvo.com, Mr. Pinsky is an attorney in San Rafael, California. He attended the UCLA School of Law. He acquired his license in New York in 2001.
