On Tuesday, April 11, 2023, the Supreme Court Committee on Professional Conduct Panel A reinstated Hot Springs attorney Justin Byrum Hurst to the practice of law following a two-month suspension for failure to diligently and competently represent a client.
The case is styled ‘In re: Justin Byrum Hurst,’ case #CPC-2023-005.
Hurst was suspended by the panel on January 11, 2023, based on a grievance filed by his former client accusing him of misconduct for failing to take any action in advancing the interest of the client for approximately four years, and for Hurst’s failure to respond to the client’s numerous attempts to contact him regarding the status of his case.
Hurst sought reinstatement by submitting his petition after completing his suspension and after compliance with court procedures.
According to the Order, the majority of the members of Panel A voted in favor of Hurst’s reinstatement to the active practice of law in Arkansas.
The order reads:
“IT IS THEREFORE ORDERED, that Petitioner’s Petition for Reinstatement be granted and said reinstatement shall become effective upon the filing of this Order with the Clerk of the Arkansas Supreme Court.”
Mr. Hurst practices in Hot Springs. He graduated from the University of Arkansas. He has been licensed in Arkansas. His info can be found on Avvo.
