On Monday, May 13, 2024, the Supreme Court of Ohio accepted the resignation of attorney Anthony Edward Kohler from the practice of law. Kohler had submitted his application for retirement or resignation to the court pursuant to Gov. Bar R. VI(11).
The case is entitled “In the Matter of Anthony Edward Kohler,” with case no. 1984.
Kohler was first admitted to the Ohio bar in 1984 and most recently practiced in Springfield. As part of the resignation process, the Office of Attorney Services filed a sealed report from disciplinary counsel with the court regarding Kohler’s application.
In accepting Kohler’s resignation, the court stated it was a resignation with disciplinary action pending. Kohler is required to cease holding himself out as an authorized attorney in Ohio and is prohibited from practicing law in any form. He must also reimburse any money owed to the Lawyers’ Fund for Client Protection.
Additionally, the court ordered Kohler to notify his current clients and turn over any client files or property. He must also finalize any client refunds for unearned fees. Kohler has 90 days to complete the client notification process and file an affidavit to confirm his compliance with the orders. His name will be removed from the roll of attorneys maintained by the Supreme Court of Ohio.
The Disposition states:
“On consideration thereof, it is ordered by the court that pursuant to Gov.Bar R. VI(II)(C), the resignation as an attorney and counselor at law is accepted as a resignation with disciplinary action pending.”
According to avvo.com, Mr. Kohler is an attorney in Springfield, Ohio. He acquired his law license in Ohio in 1984.
