On Friday, December 8, 2023, the Michigan Attorney Discipline Board suspended Attorney Ernest J. Walker for violating the Rules of Professional Conduct.

The case is entitled “In the Matter of Ernest J. Walker,” with case no. 23-64-GA.

The charges cited Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 3.1 and Michigan Court Rules 9.104(2).

According to the stipulation agreed upon by the parties, Walker admitted to filing a frivolous lawsuit in Colorado federal court against Dominion Voting Systems, Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, and others. The lawsuit was found to be without merit and in violation of the Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct which states that a lawyer shall not bring or defend a proceeding, or assert or controvert an issue therein unless the basis for doing so is not frivolous. Moreover, the hearing panel also found that Walker’s actions exposed the legal profession and the courts to obloquy, contempt, censure, or reproach, in violation of the Michigan Court Rules.

The Disposition states:

“In accordance with the stipulation of the parties, the hearing panel ordered that the respondent’s license to practice law in Michigan be suspended for 30 days. The panel further found that good cause existed for the order to take effect on December 2, 2023, as agreed to by the parties. Total costs were assessed in the amount of $777.85.”

According to Avvo.com, Mr. Walker is an attorney in Saint Joseph, Michigan. He acquired his law license in Michigan in 1998.
