On Tuesday, March 24, 2026, the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania disbarred attorney Gary S. Pisner from practicing law in the Commonwealth. The disbarment follows Pisner’s failure to respond to a Notice and Order from the court, which directed him to provide reasons against the imposition of reciprocal discipline.

The action by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court is connected to attorney misconduct and subsequent disbarment in Maryland. Pisner’s actions were found to be in violation of several Maryland Attorneys’ Rules of Professional Conduct. These violations include issues relating to competence, safekeeping of property, meritorious claims and contentions, fairness to opposing parties and attorneys, and general misconduct.

The Maryland case stemmed from Pisner’s representation of himself in matters concerning the Marion E. Pisner Revocable Trust. During this representation, he was found to have intentionally misappropriated trust assets. Additionally, Pisner failed to comply with court orders and engaged in a pattern of frivolous litigation. The Supreme Court of Maryland had previously ordered Pisner’s disbarment due to these actions, which were deemed harmful to others and burdensome to the judicial system.

As a result, the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania has reciprocally disbarred Pisner. Pisner is now required to comply with the provisions of Pa.R.D.E. 217.
