On Tuesday, July 9, 2024, the Supreme Court of Maryland issued an order suspending attorney Mary Elizabeth Davis.
The case is entitled “Attorney Grievance Commission of Maryland v. Mary Elizabeth Davis,” with case no. 2.
The Court had received a petition from the Attorney Grievance Commission stating that Ms. Davis had received discipline from the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. Neither party responded when the Court requested reasons why corresponding discipline should not be imposed.
The Maryland high court then suspended Ms. Davis from practicing law for 30 days but stayed the entire suspension under two conditions.
The first condition was that no disciplinary complaints resulting in a finding of misconduct be filed against her in any jurisdiction for the previous nine months dating back to June 21, 2022. The second was that she completed three hours of continuing legal education courses in legal ethics.
According to avvo.com, Ms. Davis is an advertising attorney in Washington, District of Columbia.
