On Thursday, July 17, 2025, the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, First Judicial Department granted Michael Allen Hession’s motion for reinstatement as an attorney and counselor-at-law in the State of New York. Hession had been suspended since January 30, 2017, due to non-compliance with Judiciary Law Section 468-a, which mandates certain registration requirements for attorneys.

The case is entitled “In the Matter of Michael Allen Hession,” with case no. 2025-03107.

The court’s decision followed Hession’s motion to restore his status, which was supported by evidence that he had fulfilled the requirements of Judiciary Law Section 468-a on or about May 15, 2025.

After reviewing the submitted documents and conducting due deliberation, the court issued an order reinstating Hession’s license to practice law, effective immediately.

According to Martindale.com, Mr. Hession attended the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, Yeshiva University, graduating in 1996. He acquired his law license in New York in 1997.
